The Central Region’s District Health Boards are increasing consumer input into the planning and delivery of regional health care services with a new, smarter, more flexible engagement model that will better meet planners’ and users’ needs and also ensure representation at the highest level of regional health services decision making.
The current Consumer Representatives Forum (CRF) has been disestablished and will be replaced with a regional “consumer advisory network” - a collection of people whose experience and knowledge of the communities they represent, and availability, are matched to the health services policy or plan in development.
Details as to when and how the changes will occur, are still being worked out and will be communicated as soon as possible. In the meantime, all CRF members who are currently involved in regional projects have been asked to continue.
The Central Region DHBs acknowledge the contribution made by members of the Consumer Representatives Forum since its establishment in 2010.
