Central Region's Renal Network Minimize

The Central Region Renal Network (CRRN) was established in May 2008 to progress the regional priorities and other recommendations of the regional renal project, as set out in the Renal Services in the Central Region: Strategic direction and opportunities for regional action.

The key aim of the CRRN is to lead implementation activities across the Central Region and Nelson Marlborough DHBs with particular focus on enhancing the integration of renal services throughout the region by improving equity of access and quality of services, reducing service inefficiencies, ensuring service sustainability and provide the opportunity for innovation.

Membership of the CRRN includes primary, secondary and tertiary care representatives as well as three consumer representatives. The CRRN is led by Dr. Grant Pidgeon as the Chair, and is supported by Shona Henderson as the Project Manager and Sarah Greenfield as the Project Coordinator.

There are currently five key projects for the year 2009/2010:
• Integrated Care Strategy
• Support for Patients and Families
• Regional Renal Information Technology Tool
• Service Models and Workforce
• Transplantation
